Default ABS / traction control system

Hi
I have noticed the ABS light coming on occasionally over a period of time but now, on a recent trip also the service engine light came on as well.
Now only the service engine light is on and the code reader gives just one fault code - Chevrolet code of 1572 ASR circuit
So this indicates no engine related fault but why the SESoon light
Anyway, I will focus on the ASR
Any ideas where I should start? I do have a basic amount of diagnostic equipment.
Where should I start doing checks?
Tom

Update:
Went for a drive today and initially only the service ASR light was on.
Soon the light went out and for the rest of the day there were no lights on.
So the fault is intermittent.
Any ideas?

Could the ABS signal be causing problems with the ASR since it might require input from the ABS sensor? IDK but some have said they took the ABS sensor out and cleaned the crap stuck on the magnet.
