I'm pretty sure my ECM has failed, getting error when getting codes from module .4 and my Snap-On scanner can't communicate with the ECM. Seeing how it's totally imposable to fine even a remanufactured unit, can anyone recommend a place to get mine rebuilt? I sent it twice to G7 computers and told them what it was doing and they send it back saying its fixed and same problem there, don't they even do anything to check it? Before total failure my vet would just randomly stall out and would have to wait 30 min before it would star again, then do it again a few miles later. After G7 Computers fix it the first time it stall out and never to start again, no spark. Please, any suggestions??
If it turns out to be the ECM, you might consider a different vendor. I sent mine to SIA Electronics to be refloated. It's $250, decent turn around, and mine has worked since. (https://siaelec.com/product-category...repair-return/)
Dennis,
What year is your car?
I have a spare ecm for my 86 4+3 you would be welcome to try.
Also have another ecm that doen't fit my car but I would need to check the numbers on it.
I'm close to you and work in Hillsboro.........
I am local to you as well, but I can't help you with parts as my C4's are 85 and 88, and not compatible with your 92... According to my 84-93 Corvette Parts and Illustration Catalog, the 1992-1993 LT1 ECM is GM# 16159278. I would try Blue Streak Electronics for a Remanufactured unit. I had good luck with a Blue Streak Electronics Rebuilt MAF for my 85. I also have a Spare ECM for my 85 and 88 that are BSE rebuilt units. I have not tested the ECM's but the BSE rebuilt MAF works great..
