Default L98 Intake Gaskets

Does it matter if the center water ports are blocked off(1204-Felpro) or the water ports closest to the firewall(just removed from intake)

Those center ones are EGR passages. Since Corvette does not use them, we don't need them. :) The F-Bodies use an internal EGR passage from the heads to the intake manifold as opposed to our external one.

p.s.

I run those exact gaskets installed as is, they work great. I've got a set sitting on the floor waiting to go on when I get the heads back. Just install them with the "this side up" up. :)

My stock intake gaskets looked like yours, with the rear coolant port blocked off except for a small steam relief holes.

My replacement gaskets were FelPro #93317 & #93318 from the MS 93318 gasket set. These also had the rear block-offs with the steam holes.

I think the open coolant holes are intended for earlier Vette L98 or F-body L98, but I'm not sure if it realy matters.

I used the same ones. They matched up with all the ports in my heads, I guess these iron blocks have more holes in em. I believe those two end ports are dead-ends in the cast iron heads, so coolant and crap just settled and corroded in there... which was why I had to change em.

From what I'd seen today..it looks damn good! And Chuck's pretty much tackling it Himself

Chuck, let me know if you need any other assembled SR photos. I have some of the old way also.

With the accel base; clearance on my old distributor wasn't necessary. Must be required on the edelbrock?

Edlebrock is ok too. Have run both. You can hog out the EB, and it will allow you to comforatbly fit a 1205 gasket.

'Sup Chuck?

No problem. Had a good few laughs.

Yes, went to NY. Good to go. No traffic for once, I'm going to re-do my sig pic with the DFI display screen. It's neat!

Let me know how the rest goes.
