I deleted the air pump and plumbing yesterday and put on the aftermarket bracket today.
Works perfect and I am satisfied. No directions find some pics and go with them!
I am planning on doing the same thing. Was it difficult? What did you do with the air pump tubes ?
For now I used a 1/2 inch pipe cap and it worked fine, but im going to take the manifolds off and cut the tubes completely off.
And I think I'll hang on to the pump for awhile, but we don't have any inspections around here.
I also use the mercury spinning kit and it is very well-built. While I was doing it I removed all the plumbing including the distribution box over by the AC compressor. This cleans up the engine bay immensely. Are use caps for the tubes coming up from the catalytic converter’s and also put half-inch caps on both exhaust manifolds.
Thanks for the post. I'm thinking about doing the smog delete, too. What length belt did you end up using?
I didn't use the Mercury kit, but rather the one from TPIS. I have a post here with a bunch of pictures that also includes some detail on the hardware and belt length I ended up needing on a 1990: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...p-removal.html
