Default Correct Headers

Hi,
What kind of headers can I install in my 86 C4 convertible? Will long tube headers work, or should I go with short tube? I would really like to come off the headers and go out the side before the rear tire. And maybe run cut outs? Let me know what you think please.

Full equal length headers will give the most power and will cost more. As far as where the pipes exit the car, if you have a guy who is good at pipe bending you can do whatever you want. Probably a lot easier to go out the back because you’ll have a lot of ready to install choices. Most likely cheaper too.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if I could get long tubes in there? If so does anyone know the correct ones to fit?

Get TPiS headers, ceramic coated, and do away with your EGR system at the same time.

Yes they fit. They will fit better when you replace the 86's behemoth starter with one from an 88-91.
