Default Engine rebuild

On a 1990 L98 engine if it would be bored .30 over with a mild cam would the ECU and prom be able to adjust to the changes made.

If we use the stock heads can a little more compression be added with out any problems?
Thanks Hawkeye56

The mild cam could be a problem, depending on what you call mild. Post up some specs. A little compression and overbore not a problem.

Would you have a recommendation on a cam profile close to stock, Maybe a little more torque so all will play well together.

Jack or anyone else, If you do not want to recommend a cam, I understand perfectly as I believe he is asking too much of the forum.

I dont think I could recommend a cam. I pick a cam for myself and always wish I had gone bigger. Someone on here can do it, I am sure.

This link lists a lot of stock cam specs for TPI cars. Anything with similar specs to any of those will more than likely play just fine with the factory tune provided it is near that years specs. As you can see there are some significant (well not really) differences among them for a given year range.

Try Alvin at pcm for less I bet hes got a good tune on file already.
About 200? And free touch up if needed thats as good as it gets.
Id definitely cam it and at least do some bowl work to the heads/good valve job may as well.
Down the road you can upgrade intakes if you wanna little more.
Dont know what trans or gear you run but cams in the low-mid 21x @050 run real strong, idle well, smog etc.

Default Cams

Sometimes when you find the cam you want, Melling makes factory profile cams, and some performance cams for about 25% less.
u gotta think most cam grinders make cams for other companies.
