car will not start, diagnostic mode?
So I drove it on Sunday. Then this AM I go to start the car and it does not start.
This has happened several times. Causing me to be towed.
When the car does not stat the cooling fans come on.
I ran TunerPro RT When I connect it there are no codes. The list is telling me that the FP voltage is 7.6. But, I measured the voltage at the pump. It is 13.4 volts.
A mechanic is telling me it is a the injectors.
I can't believe it would go into diagnostic mode for bad injectors. These are 3 years old from South Bay. The resistance on all the injectors is the same. I forget the number but it was identical and in spec.
Thank you all
I went to the mechanic. He owns 31 Corvettes. He said it is the FIs. We also took a critical look under the hood at the wiring. The PO did do some stuff that I have no clue what he did. Example the Green/White wire out of c100 should go to the coolant temperature indicator. It does not. I ground the wire on the block. The gauge does not read 300. There are a few other things.
So, being there is no way to get this fixed before I go to Okinawa on Friday, for two years. I am going to let it sit. And when I return have him fix the wiring and the FIs.
Sincerest thanks to you all.

Be sure to drain the gasoline from the Corvette or put some serious fuel conditioner in there to keep the Ethanol from doing any damage!
24 months in Okinawa? Sounds like a Military transfer.
Be safe, stay healthy and enjoy yourself as much as one can in Okinawa!
Best Regards,
Chris

it will run and start (poorly) with 4 bad injectors
ask me how i know.
1. Take the rubber plug off the fuel / oil press switch, jumper it with a paper clip.
try to start it.
2. take the pink wire off the dustributor, and jumper that terminal on the cap to battery positive.
ok so you hotwired the ignition, hotwired the fuel pump, it should start.
take oil switch jumper off, and if it quits, thats the circuit to look at
i think the 7.6 volts is the coil volts to the fuel pump relay, not the actual fuel pump volts.
if that’s the case, most 12 v relays need 8.5 volts to pull in.
add starter draw, and you might have the fuel pump dropping out.
sooo
if that’s the case, try vleaning your battery cables, and the battery negative where it connects to the car frame under the battery
good luck
And thank you for your service.
