Default oil pressure sensor replacement

Hello everybody. I am about to replace both oil pressure sensors on my 85. I seem to have trouble finding the lower pictured 2 prong one

. When I search the description says for light. I don't have a oil pressure light but do have a gauge. Does anybody have a pn for what I need as I don't want to order the wrong one and waste time. Thank you

Use the GM # 25036553 as a reference at what ever source you're attempting to buy. A correct reference to that part # will get you what you'd like. GM # 14078954 should be used as a reference to the 'bell' for pressure. BUY LOCAL!!

The top one is called the pressure sender, the lower one is the pressure switch. That should be enough at parts stores.

The sender is the one that sends pressure readings to your dash.

This was one of the most confusing things I searched for a few years back when I bought my C4.

The forum is what actually made it confusing because the language used on the forum most of the time doesn't actually reflect the language used in the FSM.

Once I bought a FSM I was able to see that the top one was the ''oil pressure switch'' and the bottom one was the ''oil pressure sensor.''

Both of those thread into the "oil pressure gauge sensor fitting''

And then there's the ''oil temperature sensor'' down near the oil filter.

At least on my '90 anyway.

There's no mention at all of the phrase ''oil pressure sender'' in the FSM. But most everyone calls it that.

Maybe the language varies as the C4 series changed over the years. I dunno. But it did make searching the forum confusing.
