Default C4 Problem

Was wondering if anybody may have an answer for an issue I have with my 1992 base coupe. This doesn't occur on 55 mph or less. It seems like between 55 -75 it may happen then go away. I will be driving and a sound starts to gets louder The car seems to shake a little too. Then it just goes away and may not happen again till another time out. Saturday went 34 miles one way no problem Parked the car at a show for 5 hours in the sun. Coming back home it happened 2 times then went away. Any ideas anyone. Thanks Doug

The next time it does that, slightly step on the brake to see if that stops the sound and shaking. If there is no change, try putting the gear selector in D3 instead of OD. This would only apply if your car is an automatic. You do not state that information.

Could be a bad belt in a tire. Had the exact same thing happen to me (on a different type of car). The first time it happened it sounded like a helicopter driving down the highway. Had to hit the exact temperature to have it happen.

I tend to agree with Dave. What are the dates stamped on your sidewalls?

What type of noise? Grinding, banging, clunking, groaning, clicking?

It's a loud helicopter sound then goes away in a bit.

I suspect it's a tire issue as drcook described.
