My new to me 92 LT1 has a hesitation. She feels like a turbo vette. She hesitates off idle and then the power comes on. The PO replaced the opti and wires, but she still has old plugs in her. I have the SES light on, checked the code and it is 15 for coolant temp. I plan to replace those sensors. Are there 2 or just 1 in the water pump? I also plan on replacing the plugs and would like to know what others recommend. I did a search and didn't find too much. Someone recommended the NGK TR55s, but I'd rather not go with a copper plug when OEM is platinum. Plus these plugs aren't easy to get at so I don't want to do plugs only good for 40k miles.
Another issue she has is her brakes drag when she's hot. The power booster is no good, so I have clamped the vac hose until I get a replacement. When she is cold she coasts easy (6 speed). When hot and in neutral she doesn't roll, she has that subtle jerk like the brake is applied and stops where my other manual trans cars would keep rolling. So I really need to do a complete fluid flush on everything. Brakes, ps, tranny, rear, oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid, etc.
