Struggling with throttle cable adjustment
My 94 seemed to have really slowed down, and in looking at the throttle body I find I am only getting about 3/4 throttle and my TPS only registers about 80% when it is wide open This is not a little bit at the end of the opening, it is quite a lot. I have adjusted the cable from the ASR to the throttle body as far as it can go, and that is not where my problem is. The problem is slack in the cable between the ASR and the gas pedal. I have about 3/8 inch of slack in that cable, which seems to me to be much more than it could ever stretch, and does not seem to have any adjustment I can find. I tried to follow the factory ASR adjustment procedure, but dont see how that can "fix" this problem as the holes are aligned currently when I insert the drill bit, and both the pedal and throttle body pulleys move together from idle to wide open. I guess it is possible my pedal has actually bent from years of flooring it, however it looks pretty beefy. Has anyone else had this and how did you fix it?
