Default Diesel Like Clacking Noise

I recently replaced the waterpump, optispark and crank seals on the front of my engine due to an oil leak. In the process of jacking up the motor to get the oil pan out, I heard a crack. The jack was positioned where the transmission meets the bell housing. Not sure what had happend, I continued and put everything back together. Once I was done, I let the car warm up per the antifreeze fill procedure. The car started and ran fine, but upon warming up, it make a loud clacking noise similar to a diesel engine. Took the car for a ride and everything seemd ok aside from the noise. Fearing something bad had happened, I investigated. The noise is loudest under the car near the oil pan or bellhousing. I removed the oil pan to ensure that nothing was inside and checked the rear main bearing and all rod bearings while I was there - nothing. I pulled the inspection plate off of the transmission to inspect the flywheel and couldn't see any cracks. I have no idea what is causing this noise. When the car is started cold, it sounds fine. The noise only develops once the car is heated up. Anybody have any ideas?????

there might be something rubbing against the flywheel, or, something hitting the oil pan...

that sounds icky.
