Default Distributor part identification and removal help

This is on my '84 resuscitation project - I found these abraided or chewed wires that run from the ECM to the distributor, but I can't identify the component. What is this called? Where can I get one? There *is* a connector behind the distributor.

And, and hints or tricks getting to it besides reviving the distributor?

Thanks!

The grommet to distributor housing on yours is in 'excellent' condition. Many I'm sure are envious. I believe you splice sections to salvage it. What condition are the connectors in?

It's called a terminal block and hasn't been available from GM/ACD or others for years. GM# is/was 1986260. A few years ago someone mentioned buying one. Search for 1986260 and several threads will be linked. One of them has phone info I believe.

Davis DUI does a 1986260-PD that might be used for a splice repair but it seems to be way 'over priced'. I believe the mating connector is likely correct.

Where did you come up with the 1979733 info?

I had it written down on a piece of paper from a friend at a dealer from a few years back. It may have been for capacitor side on an older HEI setup though. That one had a question mark next to it, the 1986260 was underlined and circled so I assume that is the one I sought out. Probably should've just listed the one, sorry about that.

My task today is to try to get to the connector. If I can repair it I will, otherwise I'll get the Davis unit, overpriced indeed.

If you get to the connector I seriously doubt you'll need the Davis unit. EFIconnection.com likely has it as a 'pigtail' or just a shell that you could add terminals, seals and repair.

Wire colors are PPL/WHT, TAN & BLK?
