[Tech-Coolant Temp Gauge Schized Out]
I noticed while driving on the highway today, my coolant temp decided to give me a little schizo dance. The temp was it's usual down in the basement cold(maybe 'round 165-170 :rolleyes: lackey GM Gauges).
What could that be? The sending unit? Or the gauge in the cluster(Hope not). It did return to normal but was pegged for a good ten-fifteen minutes.
This is the last "OLD" Car I'll buy :p:

Three things:
Temp sensor for guage is shorting out.
Wire from temp sensor is shorting out.
Guage is whacked.
You have a 90 so I don't have the diagrams.

The gauge returned to normal after driving it a bit last night. I'll still try the things you guys suggested.

If you have done any coolant related work lately I would guess air pocket. Other than that, the sending unit would be second on the list.
