The 84 and 85 have a slimmer/thinner grip. I think that changed in 1986? I prefer a thicker grip and was able to get a steering wheel from an 89. Way better in my opinion. I believe there are some providers that offer re-wrapping.

Reason: Typo
Most those are the 86 and newer wheels which also require a different horn button. Blems are chinese, you get what you pay for. Would be nice to find a 84 like that one for $115.

They certainly do not use a different horn button. Your 85 button will fit perfect
I bought a blem years ago and it's not noticible. Never thought about it again until now
Most wheels, even the re wraps, are a couple hundred, makes you wonder about this repro fo $90. Would be nice to hear from someone with one of these blem wheels who has owned it for 5 years on a driver.

For some that's long enough and still better than the 36 yr old wheel on the car with 90k. My car is no show car, plus I've converted to more of a street/strip deal. I'd put any number of cheaper aftermarket wheels on it like my TA, Fox or other projects IF not for the telescope. I know others have use various steering wheels but adapters and blah blah blah. And not like most C4's are gonna be valuable anytime soon like other gens.

They (repo) are a couple hundred maybe if you buy it from a corvette supplier who charges a corvette tax on everything.
The brand new repo is actually less than the blem repo now.
Any vette wheel sold now days is a repo

Cruisinfanatic, you mention a couple of hundred but them say less then a blem. I have seen the blems for $95 on ebay. Does anyone make the thin 84-85 in repro

You might concentrate on research yourself when shopping! Then there's no one to blame with either your satisfaction or disappointment! Maybe you're 'technical advisor' who disses Batee has ideas.
I believe an '84 & '85 only steering wheel would have been a GM # 9768988. Use that number maybe for research?
