I've had my 1985 C4 Corvette for a little less than a year now and I've honestly had some issues with it here and there but I got those things fixed up and it was running well again but now, when I go to start up my car it won't idle at all. I've tried adjusting the TPS sensor, cleaning the TPS and now I'm going to be buying a new one because I think the TPS could just be faulty. I also replaced the IAC valve on the throttle body because I thought that was the first issue. Is there any other pieces I should check for that I could have missed? It's also starting to get colder where I live so maybe that is an issue? Thank you in advance if you have any advice though. Also here's some pics of the beauty.
I was able to get it running a few times but after turning off the car and trying to start it back up I would need to adjust the TPS again until it would start up properly. I did have to take off the intake system to get to the IAC and I was just hearing some air around that area when I was working on it today so there could be something around there I may have missed, thank you for the reply!!
EDIT: When it was running, yes, it was kinda high. Usually the car rests at around 800 rpms but the car was idling at 1200 and overheating when stationary.
The TPS shouldn't be that precise. Try disconnecting it to take it out of the picture. If it runs OK after you disconnect it, then maybe somethings goin on in that circuit, BUT, if you hear air hissing, address that first.
