Default Compatibility question on the Baily LTCC

Does anyone know if a C6 CORVETTE LS3 coil packs SET will work with the bailey LTCC units harness?

Thanks,

Ronn

Bob Baileys site indicates LS1 coils. Does the LS3 use the same connector? Thinking way back, I thought when I purchased mine there was an option for LS2 coil harness…. I might just be thinking of a different bracket needed for LS2 coils.

Love the LTCC. 10 yrs and counting. Not one issue with it or the second hand LS1 coils.

Completely happy with my vented optispark with mitsubishi sensor.

I also run an MSD box

no risk of coil pack failures

dizwiz24-- I have a year old Petris in my car now; vented and runs like a champ. Time value of money is encouraging me to get what I have the spare change for now, instead of when I might need later and can't afford it. So the bailey box I have for the future, now just eyeing coils as they are offered to me. Maybe I'll never need it

It would be a sad day for the LT community if Dizwiz stopped aggressively arguing the benefits of Optispark. I actually agree with his stance on the optical disk/sensor accuracy vs cam and crank hall effect. In my opinion the big mistake was inconveniently mounting it under the damn water pump. Should have put it in the original distributer hole.

Anyway I think the bailey system is a great alternative and you should get yourself some LS1 coils from the early C5's. I got 8 coils, wiring harnesses, mounting brackets, and sparkplug wires for $55 at B&R auto wrecking. https://www.autowrecking.com/locations/henderson
That link is for the local yard in las vegas, but they have a few sites and will ship.

Good luck!

Thank you! In terms of mounting to your LT1, how did you do yours; Fabicrate a bracket or...?

That's currently in progress. I mounted them to the valve covers initially, but i've changed my mind and will fab a rail to mount on top of the intake manifold. The LS valve covers were designed with the extra weight in mind, LT wasn't

There are tons of brackets available for LS1 coils. The hard part is finding where to mount to the car. I mounted it to the valve covers. I got extra OEM valve cover bolts and welded standoffs to them to then mount the coil brackets. Allowed for an OEM bolt to seal the rubber grommet while accommodating the bracket too and doesn’t require modification to the valve covers.

Yes, I could have been more clear— where and how to mount is my question. Great explanation of your solution!

I suppose I was hoping someone made a LS to LT bracket readymade.
