Default 85 C4 Injector-distributor - manifold question

Hi folks,

I'm replacing the spun stock motor (as noted in my initial thread) with a Jegs 350/300 crate motor. Given the injectors on the stock motor are 36 years old.... should I replace the injectors while I'm at this? For that matter the distributer and manifold or just swap and see? Get fire from the original and manifold looks okay,

If so what injectors do folks recommend for the year and new motor coming in?

I have always had good experiences with the Bosch brand Injectors. A lot of people here on the Forum swear by FIC as a good source of injectors but I have used South Bay Injectors for decades and had nothing but good experiences with them. I am not sure of what size the 1985 came (24 lb.) with but I would stay with the same size/ratings as the stock engine used. The set of injectors for my 1988 C4 was less than $200 and they are the Bosch Brand.

The 1985 C4 came with 24 pound Injectors. South Bay Injectors has the set of 8 Bosch D3 24 lb injectors for $180 and until December 28th they have 10% off. That is a pretty good deal if you can take advantage of the sale.

Have you had to change the injectors on an early C4?

So far, my 74,000 mile 85, and my 41,000 mile 88 are OK, but I have read about issues with 10% ethanol fuel damaging the seals on early C4 injectors. Have you had to replace injectors because of this (damage from ethanol)?
