L98 shorty headers
Does anyone make bolt up shorty headers that bolt up to original exhaust?

Your manifolds are basically a shorty header already. There are several out there but I highly doubt you could tell any difference between them and your factory manifolds when hooked up to the stock headpipes.

Go Long tube or LT1 manifolds (around $100 for pair), if you do it you'll see the difference between stock LT1 & L98 manifolds

my friend did this to his '89. The only thing you have to do is oval out the bolt holes on the flanges

A set of used LT1 manifolds is a great, low cost manifold if you're looking to stay with a stock style manifold. I had a set on my 85 before I turbocharged it. They bolted right on. Only thing I had to do was oval the holes that bolt to the exhaust a small amount.
