I posted here a day or 2 ago in need of help with a radio problem on my 92 coupe. Turned out to also include a probem with the temp control and courtesy lamps, both not working.http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=458555 So today I decide to try to find out whats going on. I was going to pull the radio and temp control unit first but noticed a tiny bit of foam insulation of the passenger side floor. This got me thinking and I pulled the passenger side kick panel down first and found this mouse nest. The little bastich chewed two wires to the courtesy lights and they were touching causing a short. Upon further inspection I found 3 more wires with the insulation chewed but not all the way through. I repaired the wires and to my delight all is well once again. I hope the mouse likes his Decon dinner tonight, if he didn't already fry himself biting into the wires.
Re: Problem solved! Got the lil bastich! (FireGuy)
That same problem happened to Jen's(Vettebabe1) old 87 that she had. Except he chewed up alot of the climate control wires and a few other things as well. Funny how they get in there.

When I first picked up my '93, I got home and pulled the fuel rail covers, and there was a giant twig, grass, and lint mouse nest under the passenger-side cover, between the injectors and right up next to the manifold.
I felt very relieved that I'd found that before POOF! FIRE!
Not exactly sure on how they got in there, but the C4 or any car for that matter is not sealed enough for a mouse not to gain entry. And no dead mice were ever found so I assume they got in and out no problem. :smash:
Re: Problem solved! Got the lil bastich! (FireGuy)
Mice are a common problem at my place. I've had to evict them from the Vette and my motorcycle.
Moth ***** under the seat work well on the bike. :smash:

I have a constant battle with squirrels nesting on the engine of my truck, and chewing wires for pleasure. I started it one morning and it was running on 4 cylinders. TBI injection, he chewed off both wires to one injector.
My neighbor swears by dried cow's blood, but I hate to deliberately dirty up a clean engine.
