Anyone here using Accel fuel management w/computer controlled distributer??
I'm running an Accel 6.0 ECM on my '73. About once a month the thing will not fire. I have to remove the distributor cap and reseat the 2 wire plug from the reluctor (or whatever) to the module. After that it will fire right up. Been thru this routine MANY times now. The distributor is an Accel Billetech small diameter with external coil.
I just recently replaced the module (it died on me and left me stranded) along with the cap and rotor. Thought that maybe the no start prob would go away too. It hasn't. Any guesses as to what's going on here?
thanks

david, got the link from the c-3 thread. i'm not familiar with the ignition you have but i'm curious to know if this is a factory plug fitting an aftermarket module or what. is it possible that the clips are just that loose? i've had similar problems with connectors on my car, the connector that feeds main power to my ignition switch got real sloppy and died on me a couple times. i finally had to cut and splice the wires outside the connector and it has stayed like that for a couple years now.
i asked about the plug because on some of mine that have done that, i've been able to restore some grip by removing the spade from the plug and closing that gap a bit to provide more bite. then of course, use dielectric grease liberally.
don't know if this will help you at all since i'm not really sure what exactly your dealing with or how much stuff you've done. your sig looks pretty involved, don't want to talk 'rookie' to you.

clutchdust,
Although it's an Accel aftermarket distributor I'm pretty sure it's basically an OEM match, right down to the connectors. The plug into the ignition module under the distributor cap is made for the app. It's not rigged or anything of a sort. I also had the thought that maybe a bit more bite from the female plug side might help, I work in electronics, sort of, and have squashed female pins a few times to get sensors and what-not to work on the equipment I fix, but the plug is new (relatively) and I didn't want to resort to risking mangling the pins to try something that might not fix it. I think I'll try the dielectric grease today and see waht that does for me. Thank you for that.

your car looks good, is that a pic from a race schoole or something?
C4 sawblades on there I think, yes?
