Default Wire Identification Help

1993 Corvette LT1. I have a black wire, not sure where it goes or went, but its cut.
The location, harness it is in is where the Tach Filter was, prior to being cut years ago for DELTEQ ignition. Passenger side exactly in front of where Ignition coil on LT1 would have been, behind power steering reservoir..
The other part of this wiring harness goes to the ECT sensor in the water pump.
This wire was about the same point of where the tach filter was, but the tach filter was the two white wires, reattached with the crimp lug.
So, since it doesnt go to the ECT, what could this wire have been?/is?

Is the other end down in that wire loom? Black wires are usually a ground.

It should be, but nothing forward has a black wire. Its as if the ground/wire was cut and removed forward

8A-201-19 in the FSM. G108 Tach Filter ground. Follow the wire and see if it takes you to the 'ring terminal'! FSM hints that's all G108 accomplishes.

Damn it. Been a long day.
I always thoughttach filter was just 2 white wires.
Traced wire to the left, sure enough grounded to block. Never took it off after taking filter off.

Thnx.

Been chasing service asr light, and saw this wire.
Was looking to see if I had a the tach filter wires loose due to tach bouncing.
Dash was fixed by batee. So its not that.

Oodles of noodles, for sure.

I don't have an LT1, but one of the things I did with my L98 that has saved me a lot of grief was to just yank the harnesses in the engine bay and completely rebuild and heat shrink/reloom them.

Did I have to? Probably not. At least not all of the wiring. Was it a pain in the rear end? Absolutely. For a couple of weeks anyway. But in the long run, it's saved me a lot of grief. And everything is just way more tidy, too. And you know what you have going on in there afterward.
