when i put a cd in my head unit, the cd service signal pops up on the screen, and it just cherps on the speakers, and i have to turn the car off to get it to stop even after the cd is out
is this an easy fix or am i looking at a new head unit
thanks
90% sure your looking at a new head unit. I got the same CD service thing on 2 of my head units and had to replace them. The cd players are notorious for going out on the Bose systems. Good Luck
i think im gonna just keep the headunit...then get a changer to listen to cds, cause 300 for a 6 disc sounds better than 550 plus, for one....lol
thanks
I had Dr. Don's repair my head unit. It ended up costing about $240 but works fine. I also had to replace 4 Bose amps and the underdash receiver. It cost quite a bit in total but it makes the dash look original. My '90 has a gray and gold instrument panel so aftermarket radios are not a good match at all.
Hey neighbor, mine does the same thing but its strange only in the extreme cold, summertime no problems. After it warms up 30-45 minutes it (cd) works fine even in the temps we're having now. Take it easy, :flag
By the way, very cool car, we'll have to hook up sometime. Welcome to the forum.
