Default Motor mounts

What is the best way to remove mounts. I need to lift engine. Long bolts are tight even when i lift engine. 3 bolts on block are hard to get at.

Take nuts off bolts. Dont try to spin the bolt.....once nuts are off lift engine a little and 'work' the bolts out. Old mounts are probably binding the bolts up....a PITA but they will come out.........the 3 mounts to block bolts are close to impossible to get out, and more of a pain to get back in...once you do this replace the mounts and bolts.
good luck!

if trying to get the C4 engine mounts out with engine still in situ, first go to the Doctors. Get a sedative, valium is the best choice for this particular task.

Why don't you spin the bolt. That's one way that I've done it for decades...(?) Works good.

Only say that because when i tore mine down, the rubber in the mounts was keeping the bolts from spinning. Dont remember if they swelled up or were broken, but had to take nuts off and use a mallet while working the bolt to get it out.

Copy. That makes sense. In MOST cases, though, the fastest, easiest way is to hold the nut w/a wrench, spin the bolt, and after the nut is off, keep on spinnin' the bolt and it'll thread right on out of the mount and back all the way out. Assuming you have the space to allow for that to happen, of course.

That works for me. The 3 bolts on the block I remove with the engine in place using an offset 9/16" box end wrench. This can be done with the long bolt in place and the motor sitting on the mount.
