Default Bracket on Drivers Side Valve Cover

I recently purchased a ‘95 LT1 4AT. Wondering what the heck this aluminum bracket is that’s mounted to the driver’s side valve cover using the two middle valve cover bolts. I’ve never seen one on anyone else’s car, and it appears to be aftermarket. It’s definitely a mount for something as there are threaded bosses around the perimeter of the bracket. Any idea what it could be for? Just curious as to what goodies may have been mounted there.

Bracket is on the other side so this is a bad photo. I’ll take a better one tonight.

From that angle, I'd have to guess it was for a Delteq Opti Direct ignition system. I have one on one of my cars. A really neat setup...4 coils mount on that bracket, and the plug wires go from there to the plugs. Eliminates most of the optispark problems. They are no longer in business, but you can search Google or the forum for info. I guess the car has been put back to stock, considering it runs.

Thanks for the reply! Here’s a better photo that I forgot to post last night

Looks added - and I'd remove, if my car.

Thank you for the replies! I’ll be getting some OEM cover bolts and removing it. Given that the optispark had probably been messed with and it has developed a miss at idle when at full operating temp and in gear, I think it’s time for an opti most likely as well. Seems to be weeping from timing cover area as well.
