Alarm won’t turn off

I have a 1986 corvette and for some reason pressing the power lock on the door causes the alarm to go off the next time the door is opened. The alarm also doesn’t turn off as far as I can tell (starting the car, turning the key in the door doesn’t turn it off) but it usually just happens once and goes off after a couple minutes. This time I accidentally pressed the power lock and the alarm has gone off every time I opened the door and it won’t go off. Anyone know how to fix this?

The switch that is mounted on the door lock could have failed. Try using the the key in the passenger door to disable the alarm.
