If the AC is on, yes it could. Otherwise it shouldn't until it hits a preset Coolant temp. That could be 228 F factory, but if someone changed it, or wired it to ground or a switch, then it would.

There are no mods. Worked properly when I put it up for the winter. Went to do some work cleaning it up and the fan turned on as soon as I started it. Had a pressure switch go bad before wonder if I'm going down that road again.
