Where are you located? Is everything else in the cluster confirmed to do OK? Gauges, tach, speedo and back lighting? Maybe if someone was close by with a 'thought to be' good you try it! I wouldn't be concerned maybe with the 'cruise' until all of the other functions are known to be good!

Hi WVZR, what gets me is I did the polarizing film, bulbs, even had to repair the VSS connector. The IP is fully
lit and fully functional! Of course my gas mileage is only at 9.8 MPG,which I was going to confirm
as soon as I get to drive enough :-). I have to wonder if the TCC has something to do with both the
mileage and the cruise? I believe, If its not locked, then the cruise wont function. At 62 MPH my tach reads 19K.
I believe thats probably correct. I will get this done, but I am about to start a bathroom renovation. I was hoping
to get this done before this next project........dammm
If I still had my 88, this would be a no-brainer. Send me your cluster, I'd put it in my car to test. That car is long gone.
Ever since you posted the servo test results, I've been thinking "What are we missing here? Solid state electronics almost never go bad. It's always wiring or connections at the connectors. This is not going to be the cluster itself."
And then I went on batee.com and found this. The two cruise control output transistors. (They appear to be power switching transistors, and probably switch the two servo solenoids, but this is only a guess.) If these components are in enough demand to be catalogued, they must fail frequently enough for Bryan to have them available.
At this point I feel you have exhausted any possibility of it not being in the cluster itself. If there are two switching transistors involved with the K34, and they fail frequently enough to be catalogued on the #1 site for Atari Dash cluster repair, this would be the next thing I would try. Especially if you can install them yourself, or know someone who can for you. It's only $10 + shipping. Worth a try.
WOW! Excellent detective work! I am excited again! You see, where I live in VA. its mostly a speed trap. So, besides Cruise being a convenience
its practical. I did send an E-mail to Bryan, now I'm anxious to see what he comes up with!
update..............Sent this e-mail to Batee. Still updating the bathroom. found some time to investigate. Stay, looks like i'm going into April.
