So I just did the coolant throttle body bypass mod and now my coolant temp at idle is 120 degrees Fahrenheit and im wondering if this is ok or if I should reverse it.
Bypassing the TB is not going to affect the coolant temperature.
I just followed multiple tutorials and bought a kit to do it. I assume I did everything how I was supposed to and I plugged the holes it said to do and when I started my car up it said 112 degrees. I don't remember what the temp was before hand but I don't think it was that high. I did also install a new thermostat so it might be that I just didn't want to take it out for a drive and fry my engine.
First I'd make sure the units in the car display are F and not metric C.
A bypass is just the two coolant lines on either side mated together with two clamps and a little pipe, that won't do anything to coolant temps.
More likely is the stat is stuck open? Its something else you did.
It is in Fahrenheit not Celsius. The thermostat is brand new and it's a 180° one. I bought a bypass kit that replaced 2 tubes with just one so it looks better.
its pretty much impossible to keep a C4 at 120F idle coolant temps, did you take out the CTS? cut its wire or something? Its right there at the front of the intake manifold.
Bring the car up to temp with the rad cap removed to burp the system at 180F, fill the coolant up and put the cap back on with the engine revved to about 1500-2000rpm to suck the fluid down.
Then verify the temps you see in the car gauge with a scanner.

I can check if my cts is unplugged. I was unplugging things a while ago and it is completely possible that I just forgot to plug it back in if not I'll try the other suggestion. Thank u for all ur help and insight.
