Default Possibly the blend door?

I have used the “search “ engine trying to find a post on my no heat issue. No heat in any position. Dampers will all change positions, A/C works great but when I go to heat…zero temp increase. Coolant full, with engine running about 15 degrees different between in / out on the hoses. Found a vacuum tee / check valve broken so it’s replaced but still have the same problem. After reading some posts I think it may be the blend door but I do not know where it’s at or how to get to it. Weird thing is it worked once when I was out on a test drive but when I went from heat to cool it would never go back to heat.
I have the ‘96 , 300hp, auto with 87k. Only have had the car for about two weeks, my first ever Vette so still getting used to where things are at and how they work.
Thanks for any help you can send this way.
Bill

Assuming you have the digital climate control.
Try disconnecting the battery for a minute, then reconnect it. That will reset the HVAC control unit.
Blend door and actuator is above the passenger footwell. If you hear a clicking sound coming from that area when you turn the key on or change the temperature, then the main gear inside the actuator may be broken.

I finally found the actuator and yes it’s on the left side of the foot well way in the back. I started the car went from 60 degrees to 90 and the motor never moved. I don’t feel any vibration at all from it and checked the connection and it appears to be tight. I checked the codes and nothing comes up but the -00. I held the up/down fan buttons for 5 seconds and it went to -00 then hit the fan button but it stayed at the -00. I would have thought I would get a “blend door inop” code if they have one…
Still scratching my head 🤔
Thanks for your input,
Bill

Update. Pulled the actuator and found the main gear cracked plus the motor windings are open. On my way to the parts store to pick up a new one. Dorman pt# 604124. Will give a follow up once the new one is installed.

One of the first things you need to get is a Factory Service Manual (FSM). You can find them in the for sale section here, FB marketplace, ebay, craigslist or a vette group on FB. You should not pay more than $100 for the two volume set and they should be in very good condition. I think I paid around $70 for my set in excellent condition. Some clown on FB was trying to get over $200 (IIRC) and that is B.S., either "corvette tax" or taking advantage of a newbie. You can also get a disc and print out the sections of the project you are working on. I have both and I like the paper option because I don't have to mess up my manual with grease, etc...

Thanks for the TIP but in this case I have already have one. Just a bit of a learning curve to get thru it. Appreciate the thought.
BTW I installed the new actuator and now I have a 02 code which I believe is the outside air temp sensor. This is weird as before I didn't get a code but now I do. I need to do a little more book reading to see if I can find the root cause of the problem.
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks for the battery tip. I installed the actuator but no luck then re-read your post. Disconnected the battery, reconnect and I got HEAT👊👊. The OAS still doesn’t read but I watched another video and I believe you had to get the car somewhere around 30mph and then it kicks in.
Thanks again as you saved me hours of troubleshooting.
