Pretty cool write up and video about my C4. I yanked the L98 in January 2021 and finished the LS swap in August of 2021 and just went straight to autocrossing it. I personally like how the videos and pictures came out. Check it out
Scott nice write up and video. Your car looks great!
I can't say enough good things about the Ridetech coilover setup, I went with the single adjustable HQ shocks. Ride and handling improved dramatically compared to my Z51 stock setup.
To answer Yakmastermax's question about the ride height adjustment. You can lower the car so the tires touch the fenders if you want to. I didn't go as low as Scott (looking at his video).
The ride quality doesn't seem to degrade as you lower the car, although I haven't tried putting it into the weeds. Too many potholes and speed bumps in my area.
The kit comes with a spanner wrench to adjust the height of each coilover and the adjustment is retained by an Allen screw which tightens down the collar.
Scott, your car is an 87 with the original early C4 subframe and suspension geometry? That should definitely be the better C4 version to have for autocross and especially for tight courses like the Good Guys events. However, Ridetech doesn't offer a coilover kit for that, and the front shock towers on these early cars are notoriously too narrow for a standard 2.5" coilover spring. How did you make it work?

It's an 87 with 89 suspension I believe from what he's said in the past.

Interesting... I would think 89+ would be perfect choice since it comes with a ZF6 (assuming what is there is good)... I would assume it's non-trivial to mod an 87 suspension in this way?
Sorry I forgot my password for my cell phone and had to wait to get home to respond. It is a 1989. I previously had a 1987 and sold it instead of swapping over everything to 1989 I just sold the 1987 (my old black car) to buy the blue 1989.
(now looking how Good Guys changed the rules it would have made sense to keep the 1987).
I am running 7" springs instead of the 8" springs the usually come with. Coming from Miata work you try to cut out whatever weight you can and why have the extra spring if you don't need it. When I first got the car running I set it up too low and raised the car throughout the year.
Krackenvette, Convas is correct. The wheels are Flow One F4 18x10.5
Last year I ran 1 set of Nankang 275/35/18
Thank you for all the comments. I will try to respond quicker.
