We just purchased, and it happened once. Pedal when to floor after driving for about an hour. Otherwise no leak down, no stiff pedal, constant at speed and hard and soft braking.
No leaks, fluid level is good. Car has a newer cylinder and fluid not dark but do see some debris in the bottom of each reservoir. I can find no evidence of leaks. This is a project car my son has purchased. Car had been setting with less that a few hundred miles over the last three years.
We are completing the TLCs on the car.
Thanks in advance

If you are sure there are no leaks and the pedal goes down intermittently then you probably have a master cylinder problem. You mention that you see some debris in the reservoir, the cups in master may have been damaged. What I would do is use the brake with the engine off and deplete the vacuum in the booster. You can get a better feel for what is going on with no booster. Just keep applying the brake in various ways. Pressed hard, slowly, after waiting some time between applications etc to get a better feel for what is wrong. good luck, intermittent problems can be frustrating to solve.
Moisture in the brake fluid can cause that problem when the brakes are hot. You might have a brake caliper sticking slightly causing excess heat. You can Check after driving with an ir temperature gun. I recommend a complete fluid flush using fluid from a sealed container.
