Default 86 instrument cluster

One of the final items on my fixit list is the instrument cluster. Since I purchased the car 4 years ago the tach digits never worked and it's always bothered me so I traded in my old cluster and $315 for a rebuilt one.
I installed the new to me cluster and am totally amazed how great it looks. The only issue is my cruise no longer works. So before I sent a grouchy email to Gary's Corvettes I got the FSM out and made sure all of the imputs to the cluster were correct. They are. So I fired off an email and Gary's complaining that I must have received a non cruise cluster. Gary's requested a photo of the inside of the cluster. Does anyone know exactly what they are looking for on the inside?
Thanks
1986 4+3 W/cruise

Has your 'cruise' ever worked? If NOT then, I believe then I believe you need to first do creditable diagnostics to substantiate your 'thoughts'! Did you order a cluster requesting K34 (Cruise Control)? Did you maybe have snapshots of the cluster you sent in?

***You could easily destroy the cluster attempting snapshots of the 'innards'!

WVZR-1: Cruise has worked for years and I did state in the purchase that I had a cruise cluster.
jv9999: Thank you for that info...........Gary's Corvette did in fact ship me a cruise cluster.............
Now I'm not sure what is next. I followed the FSM and got all the right answers to the questions. There is power when switches are on and no power when they are off. All the ohms were right in the middle of the range stated in the FSM.
After reading the batee info I have greater than 5.1 ohms at pins D8&9 so thankfully I didn't fry my new dash with a bad cruise solenoid. Seems the only thing left is vacuum but I checked that earlier. I'll redo the vacuum checks...perhaps I missed something.

Again, Thank you all for your responses...........CorvetteForum is truly the best.

FOLLOW UP:
The one test I didn't do yesterday was to check the engine vacuum. Seems this new cam I like so much sucks at sucking...............Less than 10 inches of vacuum at idle. Time for a stand alone vacuum pump if I want cruise control.
Any suggestions for a pump?
