Hello there,
i've read on the forum it exists a digital dash repair manual written by Mr. Gordon Killebrew. May i kindly ask you where i can get one?
I would like to open the dash for cable checking, but i would like to bI sure i'm performing the right operations.
Maybe this will help, maybe not!? What specifically is your issue? This isn't the book you referred to, but may have the trouble shooting steps you need
Thank you so much @'78CorvetteS.A. for the information! My 86 dash is working good except for the MPG indicator which is reading 0 most of the time (both instant and average).
I suspect this is caused by a faulty wiring harness or similar because when i turn the car to the left it works for some time. I would like to check the serial line from ECM to see if voltage is present. I found out i should check the D10 pin (orange cable) which should carry from 2.5 to 4.0 volts AC to ground with the engine running. I'm not sure which ground point should i use for checking the voltage. Basically i'm really worried of doing the whole test unproperly and damaging the electronics, as i read on multiple sections of the service manual "solid state: to not measure resistance" which i always considered a safe thing to do.
Any suggestion would be very appreciated thanks!
ps may i kindly ask you where i can find the full digital version of this manual? it looks extremely useful
@'78CorvetteS.A. that's an interesting publication. Since section 2 appears directed towards the early C4, it might be interesting to post maybe the 'Index' or 'Table of Content' page for the publication.
Here's some more! I do not know of any digital version, sorry. Found this on eBay, added the holes so I could put it in my binders. I like to collect anything applicable to my '84!!! When I have more time, I could photograph every "Fundamentals" pages and the Corvette specific pages, but it would be about 100 pictures! I'm not good with knowing how to scan or make digital files, heck it took a long time for me to set my resolution down on my camera (android) so could actually upload pictures that weren't to big in file size! The Fundamentals section does an excellent job of explaining how the cluster works! I cannot find the voltage and resistance chart it refers to! Anyway, here's a few more pics and some of my other '84 specific manuals!👍

Interesting book.
are there any more information about the serial interface? What the data byles in the serial represent?
