Getting ready to change out my gears for some Mopar 4.11 gears. The Timken bearing kit XL-1074-1 doesn't include the stub axle bearings or seals. It looks like TIMKEN 473227V is the stub axle seals, but I can't find the proper bearings (everything is listed as pinion bearing). Does anyone have the right part number(s)?
Ugh, everything been back ordered, I'm still waiting for the posi clutches to arrive.
566002 Spicer for original B2412 is a popular after-market for the bearings. These should be available locally from any drive-line service. In stock from some.
Its tough to get axle bearings and seals for the C4 Corvette Dana 44 in installation kits.
I could not find one set, even the ones listed as "master installation kit" that included the axles bearings and seals.
There are bearings and seals readily available from the usual main suppliers online (Toms Differentials etc)
I went to the local SKF bearing outlet with the old units and the part numbers and they had no trouble locating them.
Axle bearing - Dana #566002
Axle seal - Dana #41220 or Timken #473227v
When I rebuilt my Dana 44 back in October last year, I was unsure if the kit I had ordered came with the axle bearings or not so I had ordered 2 Spicer 566002 bearings in addition to the kit just in case. Turns out my kit came with axle bearings, so I have those 2 brand new Spicer axle bearings on the shelf if you are interested. If you want to pay for the shipping you can have them.
