Help!!! Car will not stay running!!!!
I left my bro in the car to listen to the radio for 5 min with the car in acc. position, and when i came back out and went to start it up i got nothing, battery was almost completly dead. I got it to start with the help of a friend and some jumper cables, but once i take off the cables the voltage is all over the place, and when i put my foot on the brake at idle it dies.
Please help me fix this problem so i can sell my car to some unsuspecting sucker and let him have to deal with all the problems..... :reddevil

Sounds like the battery crapped out. Try charging it up then load test it. Should hold at least 10.5 volts for 20 sec or so. Is the alt charging? Good luck

I had a similar problem. Had to replace the battery. I hope you are more mechanically inclined than I am. I wound up having my mechanic replace the battery. Between the battery, tow and labor ... let's just say that I got a new battery for Christmas :nonod:

would the car die of a bad battery even after it has been jumped and is running?? I thought the alternator took over then?? :confused:

First fully charge the battery then start the car and see if the voltage is at least in the mid 13s.
If not service the alt. or the fusable link.
If the batt doesn't take/hold a charge replace it.
Under normal conditions the alt will provide a pulsed DC that the batt smooths out. If either is bad it can result in starting/running problems.
