Clutch pivot ball
What constitutes the need for a shorter pivot ball?
Adding/removing weight from the flywheel by altering the thickness is probably easiest way aftermarket suppliers employ but creates issues if the thickness varies from the oem .960." I know this might not correlate to your question. I'd ***-u-me that if it's a GM bell than it'll accept the standard thread 13/16"-16. Researched this many moons ago when dealing with a clutch adjusted all the way 1 way I'd get full release at the bottom but no pedal play and adjusted to the other extreme, pedal play but no full release.Armed with a straight edge, face of bellhousing to the top of pivot ball, I needed a taller pivot ball due to Lakewood scatter shield being .100" deeper than stock. Lakewood has an adjustable pivot ball that does adjust .100" longer or less than stock however add the thickness of the .135" blockplate, I needed a pivot ball that was .235" taller than stock. In the end I used a oe truck pivot ball that was .300" taller than stock. Don't club me over the head for the .065" over correction but it did allow for the desired adjustment.
