Default Question about side skirts

Hey there,

This is my first post.

My Dad bought Mom an 84 Corvette, and I've basically become the defacto owner/mechanic. The crossfire actually runs pretty good. Its got some getup for a 40 year old sports car!

My Dad got snowballed on the deal. The car sat in the sun for years. The plastic is brittle, the carpets are faded from black to blueish white. The seats are completely ruined.

I don't want to talk about the wiring now. I will later and hope that anyone can help!

My main purpose of this post is to introduce a project to the community, say hello, and ask for a quick bit of insight.

The car had some ground effect side skirts when dad took it to the paint guy. The paint guy held the car for two months. When Dad got it back it looked like Steevie Wonder hosed it down with red paint. Over spray everywhere. All the interior trim around the rear hatch was removed and laying in the back. It was a mess. The guy didn't even put the side skirts back on. Well Dad was in such a rush, and probably stoked just to get the car back, he really didn't realize this till later that week. Unfortunately the paint guy subsequently bailed on Dad and took the skirts with him.

I found some stock side skirts on ebay that are fixable, and am refinishing them now!!!

My long awaited question follows:

Haw the hall I mount Deez tanhgs?! Is there a special part or insert that is slot shaped? Are these abundant? Does anyone have them and I'll give moneys?!

Attached pics for interest.

THANKS !!!!

That sucks. Hate seeing people getting taken for a ride. Hope you get the scumbag somehow.
As far as the rocker panels go, if you open the door you will see a few oval shaped holes with (hopefully) plastic inserts in them. These are your top mounting holes for the screws. Then under the car same thing, the screws go straight up into the same style inserts. There is a screw in the back that you have to take the wheel well liner out to get to. Then in the front there is a few screws that mount the rocker to the pieces behind the front tire. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks @FostersPerformance

I looked and there aren't any inserts.

Do you know, or can anyone else chime in on these inserts? Are there any repro parts available? My assumption is that a trip to the stealership for these would be pointless.

Thanks!!!!

A GM# for these would be 1377030, an easy find Auveco # locally should be 10365. A local auto body shop suppler or 'body shop' should be able to help you with only the quantity you want or there's very similar that should work.

OP - it didn't take you long to insert stealership - that's a terrible attitude!
