I have a 90 Corvette base model 6 speed and I have a remanufactured ECU with that service number on it I'm just trying to make sure that that's the right ECU for this car. Having a few electrical bugs and just trying to track everything down and going through grounds and wiring at the moment.

My son also has a 1990 base model coupe w/6-speed. The reman ECU he's got is 16198260. I have no clue what the correct one is, so I'll also watch these replies with some interest...
The progression I believe was maybe in this order 1227727 > 16197128 > 16198260 being the later and displayed in GM SPO Parts Catalog thru '96. The 16197128 might likely have been later than '93 when GM discontinued 'paper' catalogs and is more difficult to document.
*** In the after-market the 1227727 & the later 16198260 change to the same. The 16197128 is more difficult to document but I'm reasonably confident in the sequence.
A call to a GM parts dept should be able to confirm.
OP - if yours is in your hand you might remove the PROM cover and mention what you find for a PROM. If OE there's generally a window in the blue cover that will display info.

Copy. Tracked down the signal issue to a bunk bulb and a turn hazard switch issue. Horns are dead and my wiring is in the process of me sorting out the half *** fixes and radio delete bypasses. Other signal issue may be my capacitor on the bl switch isn't drawing in the flasher but all lights in cluster are working with a power probe. I'll have to check on the ECU issue I'm pretty sure it's okay I just wanted to make sure somebody didn't put some random ECU in this thing and it just causing my issues.
