Hi all, I am seeking information about a rare HEI (at least to me), I have only seen 2 of them in my life. What makes the HEI unusual is that it had a hall effect trigger wheel underneath the regular magnetic pick up. I presume this was used on an early electronic fuel injection system. I am seeking the application because I am in need of such a distributor now.
..... The 76-78 Cadillac Seville with Bosch fuel injection on an Oldsmobile 350ci used such a distributor ... I believe I still have one ... I'll try to take a pic and upload it later .....
..... Depending on what you are trying to accomplish ... both FAST and Holley offer dual synch distributors that have cam and crank position sensors for a multitude of engines ... I have a FAST unit on my engine but currently only use it for the cam position and to drive the oil pump ... I have a coil near plug set-up and an MSD crank trigger to handle the rest of the distribution duties through a Holley Dominator controller .....
The one I am looking for is a stock GM chevy distributor, large cap HEI, magnetic pu and hall sensor, with vac advance. Since all parts are required to meet original stock specifications to get a CARS certification, there is no point in paying big bucks for someones name.
