coolant leak
I,m a new guy so be nice. I get to maintain my wife's 94 convert. She drives it, I fix it. So today she wants to go shopping and her pride and joy won't start. Check around and find the water pump leaking. Great! Now I need a water pump and a optispark. Can you buy these things aftermarket or do the dealers get to kill you all by themselves? $300 or so for a dealer waterpump and I'm afraid to check on the electrics. Any chance of cleaning up the optispark and having it work? Thanks for any help ya'll can give. john :cry

Thanks for the number for jeff. Ill give him acall after the 1st and then wait untill it gets real cold to fix it. I love working outside in the winter.

If your opti has not gone out yet....good for you...just replace the H20 pump....Thats what I did with mine and I have not had any problems :thumbs:

Are you sure that your opti is gone? Any codes? No sense replacing the opti if that isn't the problem.
I just replaced both my opti and water pump last month. I got the parts from Jeff and it ran about $476 with shipping.
