LT1 Clutch
My opinion after doing this job twice;
If you need a new flywheel because your DMF is shot, then go with the RAM conversion kit to a push style clutch setup. The prices are similar by the time you purchase everything.
I have the RAM 900 series clutch and I am very happy with it. It only required a few more steps to install than stock but I now have a clutch that bites hard and does not slip.
The 900 series will have some chatter on take off from stoplights depending on how much revs you give it. For some it might be a bit aggressive.
But RAM does have a stock style conversion clutch kit (300 series for a stock engine with no mods).
They also make a dual disk clutch kit.
Talk to Mike Norcia at RAM and tell him what engine combo and driving habits you have he will give you his recommendation.
I highly recommend, it is very smooth.
Only negative going to SMF, Even with the zfdoc shim kit, I have some gear rattle at idle after everything is good and hot, also when lugging hard in gear… not terrible but noticeable. It’s harmless though…
