Default LT1 Clutch

What clutch kit is everyone using for their LT1 6 Speed? Are you resurfacing the dual-mass flywheel or converting to a solid flywheel? I've seen several different options on Eckler's, and Carolina clutch, but I'm not sure which route to go.

I am soured, after converting to a single mass flywheel setup (Spec heavy mass), stock type clutch and pressure plate from Bill B. ZF Doc. This clutch setup slipped from day one.
My opinion after doing this job twice;
If you need a new flywheel because your DMF is shot, then go with the RAM conversion kit to a push style clutch setup. The prices are similar by the time you purchase everything.
I have the RAM 900 series clutch and I am very happy with it. It only required a few more steps to install than stock but I now have a clutch that bites hard and does not slip.
The 900 series will have some chatter on take off from stoplights depending on how much revs you give it. For some it might be a bit aggressive.
But RAM does have a stock style conversion clutch kit (300 series for a stock engine with no mods).
They also make a dual disk clutch kit.
Talk to Mike Norcia at RAM and tell him what engine combo and driving habits you have he will give you his recommendation.

I went RAM organic clutch with steel flywheel..:no chatter at all. It is rated at 450-500 HP…so even mildly modified cars should be fine. I agree, reach out to them to get exact details.

I highly recommend, it is very smooth.

Only negative going to SMF, Even with the zfdoc shim kit, I have some gear rattle at idle after everything is good and hot, also when lugging hard in gear… not terrible but noticeable. It’s harmless though…

Thanks guys I'll take a look at getting one of the RAM options.
