I was replacing my oil sensor switch today, as it was leaking THROUGH the electrical plug (!!!). While I was in there, I happened upon a roughly 3/8 inch hose with some kind of vent or cap on it. It didn't seem to be secured to anything on the back of the engine, and seemed to travel down the transmission tunnel. Is this just a breather hose for the ZF6? I'm monitoring for any further oil leaks, and will be watching this in case it's the source. Picture below. Thanks!
A ZFS6-40 vent is a fabrication of a Banjo fitting, a Banjo bolt, 2 seals, a tube and terminated with a typical vent as used on differentials etc. It's top of the case and if you were 'reaching' put your hand top of trans in the vicinity of the B/U Lamp switch. Typical routing could put it very close to the vicinity you pointed out.
