Default Critter attack

Cleaning up a new acquired 94 corvette. When cleaning the engine noticed some rodent droppings. Must been from years ago since there was no smell but who knows. Anyway checking under the plastic covers I could see that home was partially under the fuel rails. I noticed minor wire chewing. Question is the most damage is some stripped wire on a 4 prong connection that is mounted between the fuel injectors on the passenger side. I believe the 4 wires connect to the Opti spark. Definitely run under the water pump. Can I cut out the connection and repair the wires with out it. The chewing is so close the the connection I don't think I can fix. Just wanted to make sure no connections cross on the plug.

If the copper isn't damaged try heat shrink to repair. Almost always with the cars we own I take those engine covers off so I can see if there's a nest. We live in the woods and have had a bunch of critter attacks lol
