1987 Corvette starting issues + weird electrical
The last few days, I’ve noticed when I go out to start my car before work, the dash lights will flicker from bright to dim on initial start up, then after a while it goes away.
Today is where it started to get weird. I rolled my windows down before starting the car and my drivers side window did not go down all the way, it stuck up about 1/4 of an inch. I tried rolling it back up and down again, and it rolled up about 2 inches and got stuck, then it wouldn’t roll down at all. I figured it had fallen off it’s track or something, but I kept trying while I was driving home from work. I found that if I would let it sit for a little bit, it would eventually go up or down, but only after about 5-10 minutes of driving. My passenger side window will still work though, it’s even incredibly slow going up and down, so I figured that would be the window motor to go if one were to bite the dust.
This led me to check my voltages while driving, and my dash said 13.6 at about 82 mph and 2,000 rpm. That seems low to me. After I got home I checked my battery voltage with a DMM, and it read 12.75, which also seems low after a 40 minute drive.
Long story short, my car is having some weird electrical issues and I’m curious if there is a solve all for these symptoms, or if I should I post it for sale?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as it’s my daily driver for now, thank you!
