Iam going thru my tranny before it goes back in the car. Everything looks ok so far. Are there any updates i should do. All bearings look ok but was thinking of replacing the sprag for the heck of it. Plate has slots in it so i know this is the newer or updated design.
That thrust washer needs to be replaced.
Do you know which bearing is the one that is problematic?
SK is often quoted as the source for DNE overdrive parts, but do they actually have any? It wasn't that long ago that 84 4+3 got an SK rebuilt unit from them. It failed almost immediately after installation. He posted pics of the carrier bearing needles in the pan. Evidently SK can't get new carrier bearings either (this bearing has been reported as unobtanium for many years)) and used a used take-out carrier assembly in the "rebuild", because they have no other choice. It didn't last the test drive. How can one call an assembly "rebuilt" when the most common failure item in the unit can't be replaced, because it can't be obtained new, from any source, any longer?
I hope someone can prove me wrong. I have a car, and a spare transmission and overdrive. I'd buy an extra bearing and carrier just to have one available. Oh,wait...
Mines been taking a heck of a beating for the 4k miles its been in there since SK rebuilt it. It was someone else with that failure. I know whom you are referring and I can not remember who it was for the life of me at this moment.

Quote in post #3 alludes that the part may come as an assembly. If changing that bearing is anything like changing the front wheel bearings on a fwd car then I'm afraid you need to destroy the bearing to remove it. Not sure if you can grab it with a bearing splitter followed by cutting the inner race off but this sounds like some risky business!!!
You cant get the parts that need replacing so forget rebuilding it. Money pit. Better off getting a zf, tremmic or auto. If i had known about the doug nash i would not have bought the c4.
