My shop manual and my electrical system manual for my '84 both make reference to a "theft deterrent switch" or "lock cylinder theft deterrent switch" or "theft deterrent door lock sensor and switch" (pics below) all with a drawing of the same part. Trouble is, I took everything out of both doors, and bedside the switch mounted to the lock cylinder, there was no part resembling the drawings, nor an unused connector needing a mate.
Could it be that my car did not have this part?
This car has had a tripped security status since I acquired it and I haven't gotten to fully trouble shooting this system. Could this have been removed?
