Been a member for about a year, had log in problem, I was able to log in now.
Now, I can get some great information from you all.
Like how to remove the heater core from a new to me, red 1985 standard Corvette with 30,000 miles on it. Not too bad I guess.
Except for the water puddle under 3 floor mats. I didn't want to wait for the car to warm up, to test the heater.
With 30,000 miles, I assumed I didn't have to worry about it. The professional (lol) lacked integrity. To tell me what was wrong with it, even though he advertised he built/refurbished the the car.
I learned from your forum already,
after 4 days, I removed the dreaded heater core.
Is there a restraining bar at the top of the heater core box. That would give me trouble reinstalling the new core?
Oh well, new to me Vette ownership. Have a great day.
Been a really long time since I did that job and man it was a PITA. If you got the core out then you should be able to put the new one back in with what you have removed already. If my memory is correct their is a brace that has to come out but I can't recall fully though. I do recall having to remove just about everything under the passenger side of the dash of which several items spanned across more than just the passenger side. Best of luck!
