Back to basics
Need three things to start/run
Compression, fuel and spark
Compression is lowest on list as was running and quit
Spark or fuel left
Do you have spark at the spark plugs? Yes/no
Then fuel check pressure and delivery -Pressure 40+ PSI at test port
Follow FSM after determining which one is missing/lacking--spark or fuel start with which is easiest for you
Attempt to start with starting fluid. If it starts on it then there is probably a fuel delivery problem. If not possible ignition or other problem and go from there. Get a Factory Service Manual if you don't already have one. It will have the no start diagnostics. That's what I would do.
FYI--Ignition spark, fuel pressure and compression are not monitored by the ECM, therefore no codes for the "basics".
Primary ignition timing, which controls secondary ignition spark is controlled by ECM, which references "data tables" and knock sensor for advance.(ping/pre-ignition). Sometimes engine noises which sound like a "knock" to the ECM from will limit or retard secondary ignition timing via changing primary ignition timing.
