1989 Distributor Question

Cracks, but No spark. PIck-up coil is bad. Would that cause no pulse to injectors as a secondary symptom?

I ordered a coil, but I'm thinking about ordering an entire distributor since it has to come out anyway. Who builds a nice distributor? Rock auto has a few choices, but they look like run of the mill chessy parts.

Would suggest replacing the pick-up coil and "call it done"
Yes, defective pick up coil, equals no spark and no tach signal to ECM to fire injectors
It all starts with the pick up [coil]--no pun intended !!

Every 10,000 miles I would have to vacuum the rust out from under the distributor cap. It would just pile up under the rotor.
